Koa

Overview

The Koa Project is located in the southern extension of the highly prospective Areachap Terrane, 15 km south of the Prieska base metal deposit, one of the single largest VMS bodies in the world. Carboniferous-Permian sediment cover in the area restricted conventional exploration historically. Modern advances in geophysics, coupled with a better understanding of VMS formation, allow for detection of mineralised bodies under cover and offer an outstanding opportunity for new discoveries at Koa.

Tenements

The Koa Project is a single granted Prospecting Right, namely NC 30/5/1/1/2/11643 PR which covers the commodities copper (Cu), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), gold (Au) and silver (Ag) over an area of 105.2 km2. Lukin Resources has a 74% interest in Vaalkop, via the South African subsidiary Malmani Resources (Pty) Ltd.

Location and Access

The Koa Project is located in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa, 145 km south-southeast of Upington and 15 km southeast of Orion Minerals, Prieska project at Copperton. The nearest towns are Prieska, 60 km to the northeast and Vosburg, 35 km to the southeast. Access to the project is via the unpaved Prieska-Vosburg and Prieska-Carnarvon roads that cross the tenement, and a network of farm tracks (Figure 18).
